Nepal’s wild yaks ‘need more conservation than research’: Q&A with Naresh Kusi
Our Nepal country program director, Naresh Kusi, has been leading wild yak research and conservation activities in Nepal since 2015, following the rediscovery of the species in 2014 from Limi Valley in Upper Humla, north-western Nepal. Our team rediscovered the charismatic wild yak during a research expedition on the Himalayan wolf led by our Director, Dr. Geraldine Werhahn. Naresh recently sat with Mongabay for a Q and A on various facets of wild yak research and conservation in Nepal. You can read the interview here.
